Counselling, Hypnotherapy
and Supervision

Working With Me

I offer counselling, hypnotherapy and supervision, all online, by video or phone.

Sessions are 50 minutes. There is no office and no travelling, so you can be seen from wherever you are.
I am based in Cambridgeshire, working with clients across the UK.

I have been a therapist for 26 years, a hypnotherapist since 2000 and later a counsellor, and I have spent nearly 20 years training
and supervising other therapists. More than 1,000 people have trained with me.

Counselling

Talking work, at whatever pace suits you. I work integratively, which means I do not apply one fixed model to everyone. The approach is shaped around the person rather than the person being fitted to a method.

There is no set number of sessions. Some people come with something specific and are done in a few weeks. Others stay longer, often because what they arrived with turned out not to be the thing.

You do not need to know what is wrong before you start.

Fee

50 minutes – £70

Hypnotherapy

Mentoring offers ongoing strategic support for practitioners who are actively building or reshaping their practice and want continuity rather than one-off input.

This is for those who have moved beyond initial uncertainty and are ready to develop their niche, refine their offers, strengthen their visibility, and grow in a way that is sustainable and realistic.

Over time, we work on both immediate decisions and longer-term structure. The focus is not on quick fixes or rigid formulas, but on building something solid that reflects your experience, values, and capacity.

Support may include:

  • Refining and developing services beyond 1–2–1 work
  • Strengthening niche and positioning
  • Pricing and income progression
  • Building audience and professional reputation
  • Diversifying offers and income streams
  • Strategic problem-solving as your practice evolves

Fee

50 minutes – £95

Integrated Work

Some things do not sit neatly in one approach, and after 26 years I am not limited to one. Integrated work draws on all of it: counselling, hypnotherapy, CBT, positive psychology, and whatever else the situation calls for.

It starts with a consultation, the same length and cost as a session, so we can work out what would actually help before committing to anything.

Fee

50 minutes – £95. An initial consultation is required (same fee as session).

Supervision

For counsellors and hypnotherapists, online. Nearly 20 years supervising, and 26 in practice.

I work with hypnotherapists and counsellors, and also offer additional support sessions for therapists who are newly qualified or returning to practice.

All sessions take place remotely by phone or video.

Fee

50 minutes – Supervision is £70 per session if you expect to have four or more sessions in a 12 month period, or £90 per session on an ad hoc basis. If you take the £70 rate and have fewer than four sessions in the year, the difference is payable.

How It Works

Get in touch by email. We arrange a time, I send a link, and you join at that time. If you would rather use the phone than video, that is fine, and some people find it easier.

What you need: somewhere you can speak without being overheard, a phone or computer, and a reasonable connection. Headphones help.

Sessions are payable in advance. Cancellations with at least 48 hours’ notice may be rescheduled, subject to availability. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed, are charged in full.

Availability

Availability is currently limited, but do get in touch, as spaces become available regularly.

If this is not what you are looking for

Some people know they will not sit down with a therapist, whether that is cost, time, privacy or simply not wanting to. That is a reasonable position, and I have built something else for it.

FAQ’s

Does online therapy work as well as in person?

For most people and most difficulties, yes. Research comparing online and face to face therapy has generally found similar outcomes. Some people find online easier, because being in your own space feels safer than a stranger’s room and there is no journey either side of the session. It suits some people less well, particularly anyone without somewhere private to speak from.

Should I have counselling or hypnotherapy?

Counselling tends to suit things that are tangled, ongoing or hard to name, and there is no fixed end point. Hypnotherapy tends to suit specific, identifiable difficulties such as a phobia, sleep, confidence or performance nerves, and is usually shorter. If you are not sure, that is common, and integrated work exists for exactly that reason.

How many sessions will I need?

For counselling there is no set answer. Some people come for six to eight sessions, others for longer. We review it as we go and you are never committed beyond the session you have booked. For hypnotherapy, four to six sessions, plus the initial consultation is typical for a specific issue.

Can I be hypnotised?

Almost everyone can, to a useful degree. You stay aware throughout, you cannot be made to do anything you do not want to do, and you can stop at any point. What matters more than susceptibility is whether you actually want the change you have come for.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer, in advance of each session. I will send details when we arrange a time.

Do you work with people outside the UK?

Yes, I often work with clients who are located outside of the UK. Availability depends on the time zones.
